In 2008, the interior design students of Phoenix's University of Arizona participated in an event called CHAIRity. This event brings awareness to domestic violence through art, inspiration, and creation!
Students design chairs that are both inspired by an artist and that make a statement about domestic violence.

Chairs were displayed and auctioned off to the highest bidder. The entire event raised over $34,000 for Charity!! I was thrilled!

We all need to give back and do our part to stop the cycle of violence~

I have contacted the University in hopes of aquiring the chair for our presentation of the Vagina Monologues (bilingual version).

Three cheers for fabulous women all over the world!!!

Together we can spread the word and Stop the cycle!

It's all in the details

Right now we are facing a tough economic time.
We are all making the best with what we have.

As I said before, we need to go back to basics, back to trading, back to bartering...
and use what we have.

Look at this pic, it is a collection of broken pieces of tiles that someone no longer wanted... together they made a beautiful piece of work.

Take a peek at what is in your home, look at the things you already have and create something new with them!

Struggling is optional.
Everything we need, we already have, we just don't know it.

Viva the U.K. !

The British Design Classics have been unvailed!
It's a series of First Class stamps depicting 10 modern milestones!
I read all about it in January's edition of Interior Design Magazine (pg.31)
~while waiting at the Dentist's Office~

It says here that Mary Quant is creditied with the invention of the Mini-skirt!
And all the men of the universe say THANK YOU MARY!

She named the 'mini' after her favorite car developed bgy Sir Alec Issigonis.

Well you need to check them out!!

go to Interior Design Magazine and click on Designwire.
I don't believe in reinventing the wheel.... at Within we just like to find new ways of using it....

So three cheers for the British Designers!!

Red and White are Our Colors!

Yes, Within Studio LIVES for RED and WHITE...
and here comes a holiday that speaks to the essence of our colors...aaaah
Valentines Day.... I can tell you in all honesty, we don't like it!

We believe in showing love Every single day!
not just on one day of a certain month... aaah Valentines Day!
Some of the first Valentines actually date back to 1847!
Lets look at what used to be the trend in those days:

It says:
"Weddings now are all the go, Will you marry me or no"

Now look at the 1920's:
a 2" pop-up

And onward to the 1940's:

which brings us to our new century...

What have we done??!!

What are you doing to our RED and WHITE?

I think it's up to us to take back Love Letters!

Take back the times of the sweet poems,

speaking from the heart!

I challange you.. go to your favorite coffee shop,

take one of their napkins,

write on it the sweetest words you can ever say,

speak from your heart,

and give THAT to your Valentine.

Within challenges you to CREATE

Within Studio Hearts You :)

no more chocolate roses covered in red foil
no more boxes of chocolates filled with red and white goo

Be Original!

Be Authentic!

Represent your Red and White!!!

...get inspired, get involved, go-within!
