- October 30, 2021
TESLA, Calif.
— Tesla owners are reporting that a new problem with their trucks is prompting them to call the company’s emergency response center to request a tow.
The company has not issued an official recall for the truck, which was first spotted with the problem late last month.
Tesla says the problem can be fixed with a standard battery pack.
The problem was discovered in early May by an owner who was checking out his Tesla on the interstate near San Jose, Calif., and reported it to Tesla’s technical support department, which immediately launched an investigation.
Tesla said in a statement that the company is working with its support staff to identify and address the problem.
Tesla has said the problem is “not widespread.”
The problem is not widespread.
It’s a very minor issue, and we’re working on it, Tesla said.
Tesla and other auto manufacturers are now testing their trucks in response to a new batch of Model 3 reservations that Tesla made on April 30.
The Model 3 is Tesla’s first mass-market vehicle.
